Plans for the fourth round of the Valvoline Forest Rally Championship are at an advanced stage, the competitor’s favourite rally, The Jim Walsh Cork Forest Rally is renowned for its great stages which will no doubt test man and machine to the limit on the smooth fast forest trails of Co Cork.

This year there is a new Clerk Of The Course in place Brian C O’Connell , Brian has a long history as an organiser in motorsport and ran the West Cork Rally between 2001 and 2008. Brian and his team have worked hard on the event and are able to offer 60 KM of quality flowing stages both in the Ballyhoura and Killavullen areas - 4 stages run twice interspersed with service after every 2 stages. The rally will be based in Mallow once again with Rally H/Q being the Roundabout Inn, Mallow, in fact, Parc Ferme, Service and Scrutiny will all be based in and around the town.

The Cork Motor Club, organisers and promoters of the rally would like to thank DJD for sponsoring the rally for the last 2 years.

This year Brian is pleased to announce that a new sponsor, Paul O’Connor MD of The Crafted Fitted Furniture and Joinery Company, Munster’s leading Kitchen and Joinery Manufacturers, has come on board as title sponsors.

The rally will be known as the Crafted Fitted Furniture and Joinery Jim Walsh Cork Forest Rally.

Paul commented that he is very interested in motorsport, is a big follower of rallying and has competed in grass racing, until his business grew to the point that he had to stop.

The Crafted Fitted Furniture and Joinery Company is based in Lisgriffin, Buttevant, Co Cork where the manufacturing end of the business takes place. There are showrooms in Mallow, Cork, Bandon, Fermoy and Limerick.
